Smt. Hemagayathri Pabhu

Founder & Artistic Director, Nrityashastra Bharatanatyam Academy

Smt. Hemagayathri Prabhu is a passionate and accomplished Bharatanatyam artiste, teacher, and choreographer whose journey in this divine art form began at the tender age of seven. Her extraordinary talent and dedication were evident from childhood, earning her numerous first prizes in school and town-level competitions, including prestigious accolades from the Rotary Club. At just 15, she was honored with the coveted Yuva Kala Bharathi award—an early recognition of her remarkable artistry and commitment to Bharatanatyam.

She holds a Diploma in Bharatanatyam and has performed on a wide range of stages—from her formative years in India to her continued artistic contributions in Charlotte, North Carolina. With the constant support of her husband and as a proud mother of two, she has continued to pursue her passion with steadfast devotion.

With every passing year, Smt. Hemagayathri’s commitment to the art form grows stronger. Her tireless dedication to nurturing the next generation of dancers continues to leave an indelible mark on the cultural landscape, upholding the timeless beauty of Bharatanatyam with pride, discipline, and grace.
